The Caffeine Metabolizing Gene
A mystery has just been cleared up. Haven’t you always wondered how could some people drink caffeine late at night and still go to sleep? If I even drink decaf, I’m wired into the wee hours of the morning! Those of us who are caffeine-sensitive have to strictly monitor our caffeine intake or risk suffering from the myriad of symptoms caffeine produces in our bodies. Those who can drink multiple cups of coffee a day without seemingly much effect wonder what our problem is!

Well, it turns out the answer is in our genes. Specifically in a gene in the liver that is responsible for detoxifying caffeine. There are two variations of this gene and therein lies the difference that divides the population approximately in half. According to a study just published in JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association, if you have the slow metabolizing variation of this gene, your body processes caffeine much more slowly than people who have the fast variation.1 Thus multiple cups of coffee cause caffeine to build up in the blood stream before the liver can detoxify it. to read on about the increased risk revealed by this watershed study and how this gene will be pivotal to all future research studying the effects of caffeine on health

No one can visit my household with a cold, cough, or sore throat without getting dosed with my famous garlic juice. Sounds terrible? Please have more faith in me! If you want an infallible fighter at your side whenever your immune system is challenged, to read more and to learn how to make my renowned garlic juice. I guarantee you’ll be glad you did!

Teeccino Fans Testify!
First, let me say that I am not at all the type of person to write companies, for any reason. I guess what is different here is that I really really really loved, LOVED, L-O-V-E-D coffee, and had to give it up because of chronic erosive gastritis (caused by ibuprofen).

I cried that day. It was 3 years ago. First I tried green tea, I used to drink french roast and I am a caffeine addict for close to 40 years. You can imagine how thrilling it was to wake up to that. After a while, I got used to the taste, bland as it was, but my stomach reacted to it. Then I tried yerba matte. It didn't bother my stomach, and it delivered the necessary dose of caffeine needed for a junky like me, but it tasted like s@#*.

It was terrible. Coffee literally used to motivate me to get out of bed. Poop does now.

Every day I'd bemoan having to drink my yucky grass water, missing my rich dark brew. I tried other coffee subs, but they too were too acidic for my sensitive stomach. This included chicory, which I added to the yerba to improve the taste and aroma, but that too seemed too much for me. I still wonder about this as your product has chicory, but I don't have any problem with it.

Anyway, I'm so happy to have found your product. I've tried the java and the mocha and couldn't tell you which I liked better, they're both great.

I'm thinking of weaning myself off the caffeine, but at this point, it's just a good idea.

Cheers to you! Thanks for making my mornings more enjoyable again.

FAQ: What are Ramon Nuts?
Ramon nuts are the seed of the fruit of the ramon tree, a 120 ft tall tree that grows throughout Central America. Known as "Yaxox" in Mayan, the ramon tree (Brosimum Alicastrum) is a member of the fig family, which also includes mulberry trees, and forms the upper canopy of the rainforest. Referred to as "corn tree" by the Maya civilization, its nut was a nutrient-rich, staple food crop, capable of being stored for lengthy periods of time. Fresh ramon nuts can be boiled like potatoes. The dry nut is roasted, ground into a flour and combined with corn for baking. Dark roasted ramon nuts taste very similar to coffee!

Like soy, roasted ramon nuts are high in protein, containing all the essential amino acids, and rich in nutrients including high levels of calcium, iron, the amino acid tryptophan and vitamins C and B. Ramon nuts are both fat free and gluten free. Ramon nuts were used medicinally by the Maya to detoxify the liver and promote lactation in nursing women. Other common names for ramon nuts are ojoche, mojo, breadnut and mayanut.
