The Essential Minerals: Tips for Improving Absorption

All the good nutritional advice swirling around the media and the natural food world can be distilled into one simple rule; eat a nutrient rich, fiber dense diet. Despite our best efforts, our ability to absorb the nutrients we eat is often compromised by our diet and lifestyle. Teeccino Turns Ten: 10th Anniversary Celebration at Expo West!

In 1995, Teeccino was launched at the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, California. This March, after a three year absence, we returned to the show to celebrate our tenth year anniversary. With two new product lines to introduce and our domination of the coffee alternatives category, we were ready to party! |
Data collected by Spins, the leading provider of sales tracking information for the natural foods industry, shows that in 2004, sales of Teeccino were 48% of the coffee alternatives market, up from 34% in 2003. Additionally, Teeccino contributed 85% of the positive dollar growth in the category. Our nearest competitor only had an 18% share of the category and only two other brands contributed slightly more than 5% each to the positive dollar growth of the category. Clearly we were in a celebrating mood!

 Thanks to all of you for voting for Teeccino in the annual VegNews awards! Once again, Teeccino won the vote for The Best Coffee Alternative. This annual contest is the largest of its kind in the world and recognizes the best vegetarian products, people and places as voted by thousands of Vegnews readers. We are proud to be the winner for the last two years in a row. We were invited to serve Teeccino at the VegNews Award celebration in San Francisco with the Mayor of San Francisco along with other award winners. Held at the renowned vegetarian Millennium Restaurant that provided the perfect setting with delicious gourmet food, we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and celebrating with other winners in the health world.

"I want to join the long line of people to thank you for this wonderful product. I first heard about Teeccino while reading about the Fat Flush Plan. My caffeine of choice was alway a strong cup of hot tea. Coffee has always disagreed with me, giving me stomach aches, bloating, the jitters and insomnia. Well, I went on the Fat Flush Plan which requires you to cut out all caffeine. I did that, not too much problem. But I still missed that cup of something hot and comforting. I just received my Teeccino today and brewed myself a cup of Mocha flavor with the single-cup brewer. I'll admit I was sure it would taste disappointing. Wow! FAQ: 8.5 Oz Can - Why Is it Half Full?

Why do Teeccino 8.5 oz cans look only half full when opened for the first time?
"Our cans do have a lot of headspace especially after sitting in transit and on the shelf. When we began marketing Teeccino, we had to achieve a low enough shelf price to encourage trial purchase. A high shelf price simply discourages first time buyers. This can was the only one available to us from our co-packer and thus, we couldn’t fill it all the way up. Although the can could actually hold 12 oz, we continue to pack it with 8.5 oz for that lower shelf price. I advise people who are offended by the head space to ask their store to carry our 1 lb cans or to buy the 1 lb refill bag on our website. That way the 8.5 oz can is reused. By the way, 80% of the materials used to manufacture our cans are from recycled materials!"

You may remember reading in our 2004 holiday newsletter about the Travel'n Chefs who create fabulous recipes using Teeccino. To celebrate our 10th anniversary at Natural Products Expo, we asked this inspired duo to make us a memorable cake that would delight the taste buds of our guests. |
I love a cake that has some substance to it; it needs to be rich and moist of course, but just plain old butter, sugar and flour cakes don’t make my heart flutter. When they proposed a ginger cake made with Hazelnut Teeccino covered with a Mocha Teeccino glaze now that made my taste buds salivate like Pavlov’s dog! Yours will too when you taste this magnificent combination of spice and Teeccino. We recommend it accompanied by a glass of Prosecco, the light sparkling wine that Italians sip as an aperitif before meals or as an alternative to beer or soda. Celebrate our 10th anniversary with every bite you take!
