 Teeccino took home 2 first place awards at the America's Best® Professional Food Competition where over 300 culinary experts blind tasted numerous entries to choose the winners. Teeccino Maya Caffé won 1st place in Beverage-Coffee and Teeccino Maya Chai won 1st place for Beverage-General-All. Sweeping the Beverage-Coffee award category, Teeccino Maya Mocha also won 3rd place. Now will some of these chefs please start serving Teeccino at their restaurants???

Teeccino Maya Flavors Boast the Organic USDA Symbol

 It only took us 2+ years, but finally we got the USDA organic certification for our EU organic Spanish carob! The word "Organic" is now prominently on the front label of the Maya flavors along with the USDA symbol. The trials & tribulations on the way to this certification could fill a book, but all we can say now is "Yeah!!!"

Teeccino Mediterranean Flavors are Going Organic

A little bit of history: When I first launched Teeccino in 1995, I called it a 'Mediterranean Herbal Espresso' because all its ingredients came from the Mediterranean countries and Teeccino brews up dark and strong like an espresso beverage. Unfortunately, that created confusion among coffee drinkers so we renamed it 'herbal coffee' and dropped the Mediterranean identification. Well now "Mediterranean" is making a come back with the new packaging to distinguish these flavors from the Maya flavors whose ramon nut gives them a distinctly Guatemalan flair.
Most importantly, we now have just enough organic chicory from India to qualify the Mediterranean flavors as "made with organic" under the USDA law that says if you have over 70% organic ingredients you can claim it on your front label. The new foil bags will show the Mediterranean flavors are now 75% organic! That number will rise in 2009 as we are successful in growing more organic chicory with family farmers in India!

Well this is a David versus Goliath competition for Teeccino but if all of you help, we could win! Teeccino is competing in the best Hot Beverage Category against Celestial Seasonings, Guayaki Maté, and Republic of Tea (I hate competing against my own teas!). Plus, we’re late telling you about it and the competition closes September 1. So if you have a moment, click here to vote for Teeccino! If you don’t have an opinion on a category, and there may be lots you haven’t heard of, just skip it until you get towards the end where you’ll find the Hot Beverage category. Oh, by the way, we all voted for Real Food Daily in LA as the best Vegetarian restaurant since they serve a great cup of Teeccino!
