If you have tried to give up or cut back on coffee consumption to improve your health, you have probably tried a number of coffee substitutes, blended from herbs, grains and fruits. Most seem to be more of a substitute for instant coffee rather than the real thing—not very satisfying if you are trying to break away from the habit of a robust jolt of freshly brewed coffee or a double latte. Teeccino takes the jolt away, but it brews up in drip coffeemakers, French press pots, and even espresso machines. This no-caffeine coffee substitute, while not tasting like coffee, feels more like the act of “making” coffee. So what does it taste like? It’s a dark, rich, full-bodied drink. The taste and scent arise naturally from the ingredients of roasted barley, betel nut, roasted carob pods, roasted chicory root, and figs. In addition to the original blend, Teeccino makes the flavored blends of hazelnut, mocha, java, chocolate mint, almond amaretto and vanilla nut.
Because Teeccino is roasted, ground and brewed just like coffee, you can slowly wean yourself away from the hard stuff by blending Teeccino with regular coffee, gradually increasing the amount until you are drinking 100 percent Teeccino.
